Kakinada, Nov 23 : The home guards of Kakinada district have exhibited a gesture by extending financial aid to the families of the two deceased Home guards and to three retired home guards.

They have contributed one day wages to aid their colleagues.

At a function held at the district police office here on Thursday, SP S Sathish Babu distributed the cheques to the Home guard families and assured further assistance from the department for their speedy rehabilitation.

The SP has presented Rs 2,17,970 cheque to G Bharathi, widow of G D Dharma Teja home guard of Peddapuram, who died recently. He also handed over a cheque for Rs 4,55,110 to N Sakunthala, widow of N Yedukondalu, home guard of P Gannavaram PS who died recently on duty.

Similarly, the SP has presented a cheque for Rs 4,56,530 to SMK Ali, Rs 2,04,480 to Ch DDK Prasad, and Rs 2,06,610 to K Krishnarao, who retired as home guards recently.
