Arpan, BEST join hands to launch Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse campaign
Mumbai, Nov 20 : In view of Child Safety Week being observed from November 14 to 20, social organisation Arpan and Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) have collaborated to increase awareness about child sexual abuse (CSA) on public transport and foster safer environment for children during their daily commute.
“With this partnership, we strive to create a city where children’s safety is paramount and adults are
empowered to prevent CSA,” said Pooja Taparia, founder and chief executive officer of Arpan, in a press release here on Monday.
Vijay Singhal, general manager of BEST, said, “Together with Arpan, we will continue to work tirelessly to raise awareness, educate our staff, and contribute to the welfare of our city’s children.”
Applauding this initiative, Aditi Tatkare, Women & Child Development Minister, Government of Maharashtra, said, “The safety and security of our children are of utmost importance, and this collaboration underscores the significance of a united front against this problem.”
