Over 850 trucks with humanitarian aid enter Gaza

Gaza, Nov 12 (UNI) More than 850 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip since the beginning of hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas, Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said.

“We continue to facilitate aid into Gaza. It’s not coming from Israel, but we facilitate it. Every day, more and more trucks are entering the Gaza Strip. So far, more than 850 [trucks] have entered, and they are carrying food, medication, shelter, tents and temporary housings, and of course, water,” Conricus told a briefing late on Saturday.

The IDF has also, in coordination with Egypt, provided the entry of 12 additional ambulances donated by Kuwait into the Palestinian exclave, he said.

On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel from Gaza, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities. Israel retaliated with missile strikes and a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million. On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion into Gaza with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas and rescuing the hostages.
