Bhubaneswar: The sixth day of Winter Session of Odisha Assembly also adjourned till 1600hrs due to pandemonium of opposition members on Tuesday. The opposition parties are protesting in the Odisha Assembly only for their political gain, said BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb. Even after the adjournment motion was accepted for discussion, they are not ready for it. It means they are protesting only for their political gain in view of the coming panchayat elections, he added.
The Assembly witnessed high drama on Tuesday, as Congress legislators flaunted placards and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators resorted to ringing bells demanding the dismissal of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra over his alleged involvement in lady teacher Mamita Meher’s murder.
Legislators of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) also sprinkled ‘Ganga Jal’ inside the Assembly hall. In view of this, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro had to adjourn the House till 4 PM. Deb said the opposition is giving an adjournment notice but is not interested to have any discussion on the issue. The opposition parties are trying to confuse the people of Odisha and malign the image of the Chief Minister.
