Three of a family attempts mass suicide in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 10 (UNI) Unable to bear the loss due to the death of head of the family, a woman and her two children allegedly consmed pesticide following which two children died at Masterpada village under Sohela Police station limit of Baragarha district on Sunday.

Sources said Kumudini Sahoo, her son Bansidhar and daughter Subarna Mahajan consumed pesticide after they faied to cope up with the loss.

While Bansidhar died in MKCG Medical College and Hospital while undergoing treatment, her sister Subarna died on the way to hospital.

Kumudini is battling for life in the hospital.

A close relative of the family said the family members were under serious mental stress after Kumudini’s husband died on August 6 last following illness.
