Bhuabneswar, Sep 8 : Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Friday suspended the son of senior Congress leader and Jatani MLA Suresh Chandra Routray from the party.
Chairman of the Disciplinary Action Committee of the Odisha Congress Santosh Singh Saluja suspended Manmath Routray, son of Party MLA Suresh Chandra Routray, on account of gross violation of discipline.
Saluja, in his letter to Manmath Routray, said, “You have given a statement in the media that you are independent and have no connection with any political party.
The letter further said that, as a PCC member, Manmath Routray has stated that he does not belong to the Indian National Congress and is free to visit BJP and BJD offices.
Saluja said the party had issued a show cause notice to Manmath Routray, but he did not respond to the show cause notice.
He said the disciplinary committee of the party considered it to be a gross violation of discipline and hence suspended Manmath Routray from the party.
