Naveen launches Rs.1800 crore projects for Balasore, Bhadrak districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched development projects worth Rs 1800 crore for Balasore and Bhadrak districts.

Mr Patnaik launched these projects while distributing the smart health cards under the Biju

Swasthya Kalyan Yojana at Balasore and through video conferencing for Bhadrak district.

Addressing a public meeting at Balasore, he said one of our main objectives is to provide good drinking water to all.He said mega pipe water projects will be implemented in six blocks of Balasore

at a cost of more than Rs 900 crore benefiting 6.50 lakh people spared over 660 villages in the

district.

Stating that Balasore is a leading district in fish production, the Chief Minister said a mega

wholesale fish market would be developed over 20 acres of land at a cost of Rs 50 crore at Basta

for the benefit of fishermen.

The fishermen of Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur would also be benefitted by it,he said adding

the fishermen would not have to depend on Digha fish market any more to sell their products.

Balasore with 80 km of coastline and famous for the production of paddy and fish, is a leading

district in all sectors including agriculture, industry and tourism,the Chief Minister said.

He expressed his pleasure over the inclusion of 600 SHGs in Pisciculture who are also partners

in various government schemes.

In the afternoon launching the distribution of smart health cards through digital mode for Bhadrak district, Mr.Patnaik also laid the foundation stone for a 300 bedded hospital building in the district headquarter.

Mr Patnaik said work on two mega pipe water projects worth Rs 950 crore is going on in Bhadrak district which would benefit more than seven lakh people

The Chief Minister said with the launching of distribution of smart health cards in Balasore and Bhadrak today as many as 21 districts of the state were covered under the scheme .

About 20 lakh poor people in Balasore district and 11 lakh in Bhadrak district would be benefitted

by the health cards.
