Bhubaneswar, Aug 11 : Odisha Cabinet on Friday approved the Nutan Unnata Abhilash (NUA) Odisha Scheme with an outlay of Rs 385 crore to skill one lakh youth every year in the state during next three years.
Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary P K Jena said the scheme will work towards addressing the scarcity of skilled Human Resources in emerging trades by offering High-quality training, fostering industry linkages and enhancing employability skills.
It will also help to bridge the skill gap in utilisation of new age technologies in traditional sectors (handicraft, handloom, agriculture).
The scheme will be implemented across 30 districts of the state .
Skilling, re-skilling and upskilling opportunities will be provided through skilling institutions of SD & TE department and Polytechnic, Government skilling institutions, educational institutions clusters, MSME, Agriculture and Craft.
