‘All that glitters is not gold’ and so, the bonhomie and the euphoria which manifested in Maharashtra politics after Ajit Pawar joined the Eknath Shinde-led government, heading towards some hurdles in the offing.

According to sources in Mumbai, quite a number of legislators who stood behind Shinde while throwing out the Uddhav government are not happy the way the Jr Pawar from the NCP(then) was catapulted to the height of a Dy CM.

If the chatters in the political grapevine in the BJP are anything to go by then in the BJP cadres in Maha also have not taken the positioning of Ajit Pawar at par with Devendra Fadnaves.

In fact, as claimed by Pawar, he has with him about 45 NCP legislators which, if they all come(not the 25 already joined) then Pawar faction can also be a match for the BJP if Pawar manages to shake out some MLAs from the Shinde faction with him.

An apt disciple of the political grand master Sharad Pawar, Ajit would not have deserted his uncle for nothing.

According to news agency reports, making a startling revelation, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Vinayak Raut indicated on Thursday that eight to 10 MLAs of rival Eknath Shinde’s faction were in contact with them (SS-UBT) to return to the party-fold.
Addressing a press conference , he claimed that following entry of NCP MLAs in the Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis coalition government, there was nervousness in the Shinde camp and eight to 10 MLAs were in contact with them to come back to the party.

So the unrest in the Shinde camp has played out itself from the day the news about Ajit Pawar joining the Shinde government came there has been a few secret parleys in which Shinde, in all likelihood, appears to be the man at the receiving end and politically marginalized a bit.

It remains to be seen who does the curtain call, Ajit Pawar or Eknath Shinde.
