Agartala, July 3 : A minor died and another was injured in two separate landslide incidents at Shilghati village of Kakraban in Gomati district on Sunday.
A 9-year-old girl identified as Sajida Akhtar died when a big chunk of a hillock slid on her in the house and Anisha Begam (6) got injured in the same locality and underwent treatment in the district hospital.
According to police, five children were playing beside a hillock near a house in Shilghati village. Suddenly, a big chunk of mud slid on them.
Three children escaped narrowly while two fell under the mud.Local people immediately rushed to their rescue and could rescue them in critical condition and shifted them to a hospital. Doctors attending them declared Sajida dead.
There was no rain during the incident but the report said due to incessant rainfall for last few days made the soil lose.
