Two gaffes that may cost the PM dearly in the days to come

By D N Singh

A double whammy stairs at the PM. And he must be aware of those which awaits his immediate intervention because his deputies may not rise above the feedbacks that time will take care. No. That is a gross mistake that the present dispensation is obsessed with.

Some cases if ignored can easily snowball into a septic nature. The brightest of instances is the unrest in Manipur. The ethnic violence has taken a shape which has gone from bad to worse.

Critics have seen it as a result of the ‘divisive ideplogy’ that drives the dispensation under Modi.

Manipur is a case that is in the waiting for a quick solution for long but the BJP has not been serious to take up the issue that nearly burns this Northeast heartland.

Instead, the recent news that Modi is heading for the US at this juncture appear like departing from the more pressing issues those the PM needs to intervene which is impacting on the diverse North East.

At a time when an unending violence spree cripples life and safety in the hills the matter should not have been allowed to be looked after by his deputies as the state now wears the sad spectacle of Lybia, Syria or Lebanon.

Many ethnic and military experts have expressed their surprise over the silence of the Indian PM apprehending that the situation may further deteriorate as the ethnic conflagration has already cost 100 lives.

Secondly, his persistent silence on the controversial issue of outgoing WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh alleged of sexual harassment to country’s Olympian wrestlers now has become a political embarrassment for BJP.

Singh who is a MP from BJP has been wallowing wax in complacency of the party’s support does not care a hoot for the entire sensitive issue.

The BJP rather has seemingly hand-picked members to portray the entire thing as political and the protesting wrestlers are just pawns in the hands of the Congress.
