RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das Makes India Proud, Wins ‘Governor of the Year’ Award at Central Banking Awards 2023 in London
Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has been honored with the title of Governor of the Year 2023 by Central Banking Magazine in London. Central Banking is an international economic research journal.
The Governor of the Year award was given in recognition of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das’s contribution in managing India’s inflation and efficiently handling India’s banking structure during worst crises like the Corona pandemic and the global economic turmoil.

After Raghuram Rajan, Shaktikanta Das receives Central Banking Magazine’s Governor of the Year award. Raghuram Rajan received this award in 2015.
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has raised the repo rate in recent months to bring the inflation target within the RBI’s inflation target of 4 to 6 percent, ensuring the country’s money flow and giving way to international growth for economic growth.
