Mercury crosses 30°C in Bhubaneswar by 5.30 am; Humidity at 88%
Bhubaneswar: With no signs of rain, unbearable heat has affected normal life in the capital city of Odisha. The state capital city Bhubaneswar recorded 30°C by 5.30 am on Monday, while the humidity level stood at 88%.
On the other hand, the regional center of the Indian Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has said that there is no possibility of any significant change in temperature in the state for the next 2 days. As a result, thunderstorms will continue along the coast and in interior Odisha for the next 2 days. In some parts of the state, the day temperature was 4 to 6 degrees above normal temperatur
Although this heat and swelling is tolerable, it is very sensitive for young children, elderly and sick people. Hence, the IMD has advised people to stay away from direct sunlight and drink plenty of water. It has been further said that if not necessary one should refrain from traveling between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm and take a sufficient amount of drinks even if you are not thirsty.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued orange and yellow warnings for the heatwave to severe heatwave conditions at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Keonjhar districts on Monday. A yellow warning for heatwave conditions has been issued for Sundargarh, Nuapada, Kandhamal, and Mayurbhanj districts.
“Although this heat and swelling is tolerable, it is very sensitive for young children, older people and sick people. So stay away from direct sunlight and drink plenty of water and keep your living space cool,” IMD added.
