Cuttack: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was found hanging at the Tehsil office in Cuttack’s Nischintakoili on Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.
The ceased has been identified as Sanjay Das, the RI of Tarat section.
According to reports, the body of the Revenue Inspector was found hanging inside the first floor of the Tehsil Office. Whether it is a case of suicide or murder was not known immediately.
Several employees of the office spotted the body hanging from a ceiling fan on the upper floor of the building and informed the police about it.
Cops recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which he died.
Though it has not been ascertained why the RI took the extreme step, his daughter Subhalaxmi Das told the media that her father was under mental pressure after he was transferred to another place recently. But the cause of the RI’s suicide would be known after police investigation.
