Money Heist Fever: Bride’s Brother Gives Unique Twist To ‘Joota Chupai’ Ritual; Netizens In Love

There are numerous traditions that are common in Indian and Pakistani weddings. Desi weddings are typically grand affairs that involve a lot of dance and music, food, and fun-filled traditions. One such ritual is the ‘joota chhupai’, wherein the bride’s sisters steal the groom’s shoes as a prank and promise to give them back only if they get money in return.

But this Pakistani bride took it to a whole different level. For those unaware, the tradition entails the bride and groom’s squad playing mischievous roles. The ultimate goal is to steal the groom’s shoes when he makes his way to the mandap. The siblings and relatives involved have to be discreet during the loot and the main objective remains to gain money from the groom when he needs his shoes back. The groom can negotiate to lessen the demand but cannot avoid paying up. Now, this Pakistani bride gave a creative Money Heist twist to the tradition.

The clip features the bride’s brother dressed in red overalls and a Salvador Dali mask, performing a heist to steal the groom’s shoes in a fun-filled wedding. The brother dances to a desi version of Bella Ciao, the theme song of the show, as he runs to the stage and steals the groom’s shoes.

The bride Warda Sikander took to social media to share the video of her brother’s amusing “joota heist”. In the clip, the bride’s brother was filmed in the orange overalls from the popular Netflix series “Money Heist”. He also donned the iconic Salvador Dali mask. In the video, the man is seen running to the stage in costume and stealing the costume in style. The man’s entry left the guests at the venue amused. Soon after stealing the shoes of the groom, the man also danced to the song “Bella Ciao”.
