Pakistan’s big charisma after follow-on, Shan Masood’s innings shattered 123 years old record
Shan Masood Innings: The second match of the two-Test series is being played between Pakistan and South Africa. In this match, South Africa made a score as big as the Himalayas of 615 runs in the first innings. After this, the Pakistani team could score only 194 runs in the first innings. Africa had taken a huge lead of 421 runs in the first innings. Pakistan was forced to play follow on. In the second innings for Pakistan, Shan Masood played a marathon inning of 145 runs and he scored the sixth century of his Test career. Babar Azam (81 runs) came to open with Masood. There was a big partnership of 205 runs between these two for the first wicket. After this, Kamran Ghulam contributed 28 runs and Saud Shakeel contributed 23 runs. Currently Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Aga are present at the crease. Pakistan has scored 406 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

By scoring 400 runs in the second innings, the Pakistani team has become the foreign team making the highest score after follow-on in South Africa. Earlier in the year 1902, Australia had scored 372 runs while playing follow-on in South Africa. Now the Pakistani team has destroyed Australia’s 123 year old record. The Pakistani team has become the first foreign team to score 400 plus while playing follow-on in South Africa.
Shan Masood played an inning of 145 runs
Shan Masdu batted strongly. Even after Babar was out, he remained at the crease and scored 145 runs. He has become the second highest test scorer for Pakistan against South Africa. He missed breaking Khurram Manzoor’s record by just two runs. The record of making the highest test score for Pakistan against South Africa was in the name of Khurram Manzoor. He played an inning of 146 runs in the test against South Africa in 2013.
