New Delhi, Sept 22 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the Narendra Modi-led central government for significantly improving the internal security situation in India and bringing transformative changes in people’s lives. Speaking at a recent event, Shah stated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the last 10 years, violence in three of India’s most sensitive regions Jammu & Kashmir, the North-East, and Naxal-affected areas has declined by nearly 75%.
He further announced that Maoist extremism will be completely eradicated by March 31, 2026, and reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Citing examples like the surgical strike, air strike, and Operation Sindoor, Shah emphasized how India has taken bold steps to safeguard national security under Modi’s leadership.
Highlighting India’s effective management of the COVID-19 crisis, Shah remarked, “If the world wants to learn crisis management, it should study how India handled COVID under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.” While other governments around the world were merely reacting, Shah noted that in India, the central and state governments, along with 1.4 billion citizens, fought the pandemic together and succeeded.
“This unity was only possible due to Modi’s firm leadership,” he said. Shah also praised the Prime Minister for being a team player, stating that Modi never imposes decisions during Cabinet meetings. “Every decision is taken collectively. And once it is, it becomes Modi’s decision. I have never seen a better listener than him,” Shah added.
He also recalled Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, describing him as someone who always worked for inclusive development. “What he did in Gujarat, he is now doing across the country,” he said.
Shah highlighted several of the Modi government’s flagship welfare schemes, stating that in the past 11 years, Modi has **provided over 60 crore poor Indians with access to basic necessities such as housing, electricity, toilets, cooking gas, clean drinking water, 5 kg of free monthly ration, and health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.
Shah concluded by saying that while previous governments only talked about helping the poor, Modi actually delivered results solving issues that had plagued the poor for decades, all within just one decade.
