Ayodhya’s Maha Deepotsav: A historic occasion and witness to a world record

Ayodhya, October 20 : Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, has created a historic moment on the world map. A new chapter has been created in the Guinness World Records by lighting 26,11,101 earthen lamps on the occasion of the ninth Deepotsav.
On this occasion, 2128 Vedacharyas performed simultaneous aarti, which gave Ayodhya its second world record. More than 26 lakh lamps were lit at ‘Ram Ki Paidi’ and 56 ghats on the banks of the Saryu river. The lamps were counted using drones and QR codes and the Chief Minister was presented with a Guinness World Record certificate.
Around 33,000 volunteers participated in this grand event. The festival, which lasted from 5 pm to 8 pm, mesmerized the audience with light and sound displays, laser shows, drone displays and fireworks.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the lamp lighting and aarti and said, “Every lamp reminds us that truth can be persecuted, but never defeated.” He described the event as not just a world record but also a symbol of devotion, culture and national unity.
Deepotsav 2025 has been a glorious chapter for Ayodhya, which has illuminated the world with the eternal flame of the greatness of Indian culture and the lamp of faith.
