Weather Update: Yellow Warning Alerted To 7 Districts

Bhubaneswar: The Monsoon low pressure system extends over the low pressure center over South Bangladesh and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal. As a result, lightning and rain may occur in some parts of North Odisha and a few places in South Odisha during the next 24 hours.

It is raining in different parts of the state. Thunderstorm and heavy rain are likely at some places today. Elsewhere, the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has predicted light to moderate rain. Rainfall may decrease in some areas. On Tuesday, 7 to 11 cm of rain is expected in 7 districts including Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and Jharsuguda. A yellow warning has been issued by the Meteorological Center to these districts.

SRC Satyabrat Sahu has directed the District Magistrate of the concerned district to be alert. Rayagada received 42 mm of rain on Monday. It has rained in Titilagarh, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Talcher areas.
