After 60 years a foreign batsman did wonders
Yashasvi Jaiswal has done wonders by scoring half-centuries in both the innings. He has become the third foreign player to score 80 plus runs in both innings of a Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Before him, Hanif Mohammad (1964) and Herbert Sutcliffe (1925) had scored 80 plus in both the innings of the Test match at Melbourne ground. Now Jaiswal has repeated the feat like Mohammad Hanif after 60 years.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is in very good form and a lot of runs are coming from his bat. In the year 2024, he single-handedly led the Indian team to victory in many matches and emerged as the biggest match winner for the team. He scored a total of 1478 Test runs for Team India in the year 2024, which included three centuries and 9 half-centuries. He has so far participated in a total of 18 Test and 23 T20 International matches for Team India. 23 year old Jaiswal plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He is known for scoring runs at a fast pace, but if needed, he can also stay at the crease and bat. He has shown this in the fourth test.
