Who is Manu Bhakar: What is her untold story before the Paris Olympic

New Delhi: Manu Bhakar. This name is now trending on the internet. From politicians to film stars. To sport experts to PM, everyone appreciating her. This 22 year old girl created history by winning the historic bronze medal in the 10m air pistol in the Paris Olympic. In the journey of the Paris Olympics, she wrote the first page of medal books for India. This is so special. Not only for country or her, but for the future of shooting as well. Because after 12 years of waiting Manu bought a new sunrise for this game. 

With this winning moment Manu Bhakar, the 22 year old girl also categorized herself into a new category. Manu is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal and that fact in itself is as absurd as the absence of Indian shooting medals across three olympic cycles. 

Who is Manu Bhakar?Manu Bhakar is a girl from Haryana. This olympian was born on 18 February 2002 in Goria village of Jhajjar district of the state. This young shooter also expertised in martial arts, boxing, tennis and skating as well. In her career in shooting she won a gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the age of 16. She also became the youngest Indian to win a gold at ISSF World Cup.  

Manu’s Untold Story:In her journey she had faced so many hurdles. After losing a medal in the Tokyo Olympics, Manu’s life had totally changed. Discussing her failures to the media she expressed her feelings as it was very hard days for her.  There was a circuit failure in the electronic trigger in the middle of the second series. It was a tough time as she faced technical glitches and was unable to shoot for about 22 minutes. She went through a period of depression for a long time due to missing out on a medal in the Tokyo Olympics. People at home even started talking about quitting shooting. Then Manu calmed her mind by reading the Gita and relieved stress with yoga. Actually, this is a long process. Her family helps her a lot to cheer her up and to bring a smile back to her face again. Manu Bhakar brought her back from the deep depression by doing yoga, reading books, horse riding and praying to Lord Shiva. Whenever Manu gets leisure time she spends her time in small activities at home. 

But this time she has overcome her hurdles and created a long way for shooting and for her career as well.
