Indian Team: The five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played between India and Australia from November 22. The first match will be held on Perth ground. Yash Dayal got a chance in the T20 series against South Africa, but then he did not get a chance to be a part of the playing eleven of even a single match. He did not return to India after the T20 series ended. Rather have reached Perth directly. Earlier, Dayal had got a place in the Indian Test team against Bangladesh, but he could not make his debut.
Strong performance in IPL
Yash Dayal impressed everyone with his bowling in IPL 2024 and with his strong performance, he took the team to the playoffs. He took a total of 15 wickets in 14 matches of IPL 2024. Apart from this, he also continued his good performance in domestic cricket, for which he has now got the reward. Dayal has been retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore as an uncapped player. He has not yet made his debut in international cricket for Team India.
Khalil Ahmed will return to India
Khalil Ahmed was injured and was not able to bowl in the nets. The medical team advised him rest after which he was sent back to India. A BCCI source said that this is like an option because the Indian team needs a bowler like Mitchell Starc for practice. Dayal was to play the A Test but was sent to South Africa. If Khalil could not bowl then there was no use of his staying here. It is not yet decided whether Khalil will play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament before the IPL auction or not. Delhi Capitals has released him.
