In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Baroda team registered a thrilling victory over Tamil Nadu team by 3 wickets. The biggest hero for Baroda was Hardik Pandya. He has led the team to victory with excellent batting. Baroda captain Krunal Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. After this, Tamil Nadu team scored 221 runs with the help of N Jagadeesan’s half-century and gave Baroda a big target to chase.
Baroda bowlers flopped
While bowling first, Baroda bowlers could not show anything special. Lukman Meriwala took maximum 3 wickets in his name. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya also proved expensive. He gave away 44 runs in his four overs and could not take a single wicket. Atit Sheth gave 50 runs in three overs. Tamil Nadu batsmen scored a lot of runs against these two. For Tamil Nadu, N Jagadeesan contributed 57 runs and Vijay Shankar contributed 42 runs. Apart from this, captain Shahrukh Khan scored 39 runs.

Hardik was out on the second ball of the last over when the team needed nine runs. By the time he was out, Baroda team was on the verge of victory. Atit Sheth gave victory to Baroda by hitting a four on the last ball.

On the other hand, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy itself, Mumbai defeated Maharashtra by five wickets with the help of half-centuries from captain Shreyas Iyer and experienced Ajinkya Rahane. Shreyas, who was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26 crore 75 lakh in the mega auction of IPL, scored 71 runs in 39 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes. Rahane contributed 52 runs in 34 balls. Mumbai achieved the target of 172 runs to win in 17.1 overs. Earlier, Shardul Thakur and Mohit Awasthi took two wickets each and restricted Maharashtra to 171 runs for nine wickets.
