Former Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jay Shah has recently become the new Chairman of ICC. Due to which he had to leave all his cricket related posts. Along with being the Secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah was also the President of Asian Cricket Council i.e. ACC. As soon as Jay Shah joined ICC, ACC has announced the name of its new President. He has selected Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva for the post of ACC President. The Asian Cricket Council has announced that Shammi has taken over this post.
Shammi will have a big responsibility
The new ACC President Shammi Silva will have many big responsibilities. Shammi has worked with ACC for many years. He previously served as chairman of the ACC Finance and Marketing Committee. In such a situation, he will have knowledge about the working of ACC to a great extent. Many major decisions were taken during Jai Shah’s tenure. In such a situation, the responsibility of taking forward those decisions will be on Shammi Silva.

Silva has also praised Jay Shah. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Jai Shah for his leadership and significant contributions during his tenure. Mr Silva takes over as president at a crucial time for Asian cricket. He is expected to prioritize development at the grassroots level and help emerging cricket nations move forward on the global stage.
