Varun Chakravarthy Career: South Africa defeated the Indian team by 3 wickets in the second T20 match. Batting first, India scored 124 runs. After this, with the help of Tristan Stubbs in the 19th over, Africa chased this target and also achieved parity in the series at 1-1. Even though Team India lost the match, Varun Chakraborty managed to win everyone’s hearts with his performance. Varun had to lose the match even after taking 5 wickets
Varun Chakraborty gave 17 runs in four overs and took 5 wickets in the match. This is his first five-wicket haul in T20 International. He has become the 5th bowler from India to take 5 wicket haul in T20I. Before him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar have done this. The special thing is that apart from Varun, whenever all the other bowlers have taken five wicket haul in T20I, the team has won. Whereas despite Varun Chakraborty’s good performance, he has lost. He is the first Indian bowler to lose a match by taking five wickets in T20I.
Made debut in T20 International in the year 2021
Varun Chakraborty made his debut for the Indian team in T20 International in the year 2021. After this he was also selected for T20 World Cup 2021. Where he could not perform well. After this he was shown the way out of Team India. But he would have performed well in IPL. Then under the captaincy of Surya, his luck improved against Bangladesh and he entered Team India. Varun has so far taken a total of 15 wickets in 11 T20 International matches for the Indian team.
