SMAT: Bengal, UP and Saurashtra’s dream broken, all four semi-final teams decided, know the complete schedule
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 semi-final fixtures confirmed: These days, T20 cricket is all the rage in Indian domestic cricket. Before IPL, many players are getting a chance to show their talent in 20 over cricket. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-24 tournament, which started last year, has now reached the knockout round. That means the four semi-finalist teams of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy have been decided. With the result of the quarter-final match played between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, the four teams that will reach the last-4 were decided. Delhi defeated Uttar Pradesh by 19 runs in the quarterfinal match played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and became the fourth and last team to reach the semi-finals. Batting first, Delhi scored 193 runs in 20 overs but UP was all out for 174 runs in 20 overs.
Mumbai registered a thrilling victory
Earlier, Mumbai won the semi-final ticket by defeating Vidarbha in a thrilling match. Mumbai won the semi-final ticket by defeating Vidarbha by 6 wickets in the fourth quarter-final match. Ajinkya Rahane had the biggest contribution in this victory of Mumbai, who played an inning of 84 runs in 45 balls with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes. Batting first, Vidarbha scored a huge score of 221 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Mumbai team had put 157 runs for 4 wickets on the scoreboard after the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane in 15.1 overs and the team needed 65 runs on 29 balls to win. 60 runs were required to win in the last 4 overs and the stormy innings of Shivam Dubey and Suryansh Shedge made this victory very easy. Both of them batted brilliantly and gave Mumbai victory in just 4 balls. Shivam Dubey played an unbeaten inning of 37 runs and Suryansh played an unbeaten inning of 36 runs.
Bengal lost
On the other hand, due to lackluster performance by fast bowler Mohammed Shami, Bengal lost to Baroda by 41 runs in the quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Meanwhile, in the second quarterfinal in Alur, Madhya Pradesh entered the last-4 with a spectacular 6-wicket win over Saurashtra, thanks to the all-round performance of Venkatesh Iyer. Venkatesh scored unbeaten 38 runs in 33 balls along with taking two wickets, due to which Madhya Pradesh achieved Saurashtra’s target of 173 runs for seven wickets by scoring 174 runs for four wickets with four balls remaining.
