Shreyas Iyer in Vijay Hazare Trophy: Star batsman Shreyas Iyer, who is out of the Indian team, has once again succeeded in leading his team to victory by batting brilliantly. However, no runs were scored from the bat of Suryakumar Yadav. Shreyas Iyer is also captaining his team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Recently, under his captaincy, Mumbai also won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With the Champions Trophy approaching, this innings of Shreyas becomes even more important.

Match played between Mumbai and Hyderabad

The Vijay Hazare Trophy match was played today between Mumbai and Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hyderabad team, which came to bat first, lost all its wickets and scored a meager score of 169 runs. The team batted only 38.1 overs. That means Mumbai had a small score in front. So Shreyas Iyer did some experiments and gave the new players a chance to play first.

Suryakumar Yadav was a flop

Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat at number eight. He scored only 18 runs on 23 balls and returned to the pavilion. In this innings, Surya hit two fours and a six. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer came to play at number nine. When Suryakumar Yadav was out, the team’s score was 105 runs, which means a lot of runs were still to be scored to win, then Shreyas Iyer took charge and led his team to victory. Shreyas Iyer played an amazing inning of 44 runs on 20 balls. During this, he defeated the opposing team by hitting four fours and three sixes.

Possibilities of returning to the ODI team

Shreyas Iyer played his last ODI for India against Sri Lanka in August this year. Shreyas Iyer is not able to find a place in the T20 and Test team, but he can definitely make a comeback in the ODI team. Now there is Champions Trophy next year itself. A batsman like him will be needed in the Champions Trophy, so his innings becomes even more important. Although it is still the initial phase of Vijay Hazare Trophy, it remains to be seen how Shreyas performs in the upcoming matches.
