Shahid Afridi: Shahid Afridi’s bad words, said this stinging thing about India
Champions Trophy 2025 is to be organized on Pakistani soil. But BCCI has refused to send the team there and demanded a hybrid model. Which was completely rejected by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Then reports came that the ICC gave an ultimatum to the PCB to either accept the hybrid model or stay out of the Champions Trophy. During this time, ICC held several meetings with BCCI and PCB officials, in which PCB agreed to the hybrid model. But he has also put a condition that the hybrid model will be applicable for the tournaments to be held in India. Which is not acceptable to BCCI. For this reason the schedule of Champions Trophy has not been announced yet. Now Shahid Afridi has given his opinion on this.
Avoid playing in India: Afridi
Former Pakistan star all-rounder Shahid Afridi, while speaking at the Urdu conference held at Karachi Arts Council, advocated the PCB to take a tough stance on cricket relations with India, saying that Pakistan will have to become self-reliant to take strong decisions. If India cannot come and play in Pakistan then there is no reason for us to go and play in India.
Afridi also advised ICC
Shahid Afridi said that unless India agrees to send its team to Pakistan, it should refrain from sending the national team to India for any cricket competition, including ICC tournaments. He said that the ICC also now has to decide whether it just wants to make money or will fulfill its responsibility by ensuring every member country gets the opportunity to play cricket.
The Indian team has not gone to Pakistan to play cricket since 2008. Political relations between the two countries deteriorated after the terrorist attack in Mumbai in 2008. Now both the teams are seen playing only in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup. The last time the Champions Trophy was organized was in the year 2017. Then Pakistan won the title by defeating India.
