Rohit Sharma, burdened under the burden of captaincy, reached the threshold of topping the shameful club.
Indian cricket team is in the news these days due to its poor performance. After losing the first two Test matches at home against New Zealand, Team India has lost the series and is now in danger of a clean sweep. After suffering crushing defeats in the Bengaluru and Pune Tests, fans expected a better performance from Team India in the third Test, but what happened was what was feared.
On the first day of the third Test match being played in Mumbai, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian spin bowlers performed brilliantly and bowled out New Zealand for 235 runs in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets while Washington Sundar took 4 wickets. After this, captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal entered the field to open the Indian innings but proved to be a flop. Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs. New Zealand bowler Matt Henry hunted Rohit. In this way, he failed to do wonders with the bat for the third consecutive Test.
