Robin Uthappa’s first reaction after the arrest warrant was issued, clarified on the fraud case

Robin Uthappa: An arrest warrant was issued to former Indian team cricketer Robin Uthappa in the PF fraud case. According to the report, Uthappa is a shareholder in a company named Centaurus Lifestyle Brand Private Limited. This company deducted the Provident Fund i.e. PF money from the accounts of the employees but did not deposit it. Due to which fraud of about Rs 23 lakh has come to light. For this reason, an arrest warrant was issued against Uthappa on 4 December. He was also given time till December 27 to deposit the entire money. But if he is unable to do so, he can be arrested again. Now even before this a statement has come out from Uthappa’s side.

Robin Uthappa had lent money to companies

Robin Uthappa posted on social media platform I want to tell. I was appointed as a director in these companies in 2018-19. Because I had given money to these companies as loan. I didn’t have an active executive role, given my work as a professional cricketer, TV presenter and commentator I didn’t have time to attend. Other companies to which I have given loans till date. I don’t play an executive role in them either.

On top of that, these companies have failed to repay the loan given by me. Due to which I had to initiate legal proceedings. Many years ago I had also resigned from the post of director. When PF officials demanded payment of the dues, my legal team responded and told that I had no role in it. After this the proceedings continue. My legal advisors will take steps to resolve these matters in the coming days. I would also like to request the media to please present complete facts.

Have won T20 World Cup title for India

The Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2007 title under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Robin Uthappa has been a member of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. At present he is busy in commentary and has retired from cricket. He has scored 934 runs in 46 ODI matches and 249 runs in 13 T20 International matches for Team India.
