RCB team has been playing in IPL since 2008 and the team has players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Mohammed Siraj. But the team has not been able to win the title even once. RCB made it to the finals thrice, but had to face defeat every time. Now to win the title in IPL 2025, RCB has adopted the best strategy and has appointed Omkar Salvi as the bowling coach.

Won three big titles in last 8 months

Omkar Salvi was earlier working as an assistant coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders team and he has won the IPL 2024 title with the KKR team. He has won Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy and IPL titles in the last 8 months. Omkar is currently the coach of Mumbai cricket team and his tenure is ending in March 2025. After this he will join RCB.

Karthik was made batting coach

Earlier, RCB had appointed wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik as its batting coach and mentor for the IPL 2025 season. Omkar Salvi and Karthik have worked together before. He keeps a low profile and gives a free hand to the players. 46 year old Omkar has coaching experience. Now it remains to be seen whether things will change for the RCB franchise under his coaching or not. He played only one List-A match in his career, in which he managed to take only one wicket.

RCB has retained 3 players

RCB has retained three players in IPL 2025 retention. These include Virat Kohli (21 crores), Rajat Patidar (11 crores) and uncapped Yash Dayal (5 crores). RCB may use three RTMs for IPL mega auction. There is still Rs 83 crore left in his purse.

Virat is the pillar of the RCB team and has won many matches for the team on his own. He is the highest run scorer in IPL. He has scored 8004 runs in IPL. Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal have also performed strongly for RCB.
