During the first half of the football match being played in Chilaca, Huancayo city of Peru, there was havoc of lightning, in which due to sudden bad weather, the referee decided to stop the game and at that time all the players went back inside. While leaving, suddenly lightning struck, killing 39-year-old player Jose Hugo de la Cruz Meza. Goalkeeper Juan Choka was also badly injured in this accident. This match was being played between the two domestic football clubs there, Juvetad Bellavista and Familia Choca.
