PCB has no option, ICC may take decision soon regarding Champions Trophy
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: PCB i.e. Pakistan Cricket Board is definitely adamant to hold the Champions Trophy at its home, but soon you will come to know that it has to face defeat. Champions Trophy is to be organized in February next year, but as of now, leaving aside the schedule, it is not even decided what will be the venue of this tournament. It is said that Pakistan has got the hosting rights, but it is very unlikely that the entire tournament will be held there. BCCI has refused to send its team to Pakistan due to security reasons. Now the PCB is badly stuck.
Champions Trophy schedule may be released soon
It is believed that the Champions Trophy schedule can be released on November 22, but the Pakistan Cricket Board remains a hurdle in this. It has now been decided that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan, but the effort of PCB is that by any means ICC should tell BCCI that Team India should come to Pakistan. Actually, the Indian government has taken the decision to send Team India to Pakistan. ICC can never ask any cricket board to go against its own government. This is the reason why ICC will not talk to BCCI on this matter.
ICC is talking to PCB
The ICC is now trying to convince the PCB as to why it is necessary for the Champions Trophy to be held on a hybrid model. Also, if India has refused to go to Pakistan, then it is not possible that this tournament can be held without the Indian team. Pakistan’s best effort is that somehow the Indian team should come to Pakistan, but at present nothing like this seems to be happening.
The tournament will be held on hybrid model only
It is possible that soon a decision will be taken by the ICC that the Champions Trophy should be conducted on the hybrid model. That means the Indian team will play its matches at some other place. UAE can be the best option for this. As soon as this is decided, the schedule of the Champions Trophy will also be released. Because in ICC tournaments the schedule has to be released at least three months in advance. No matter how much attitude Pakistan is showing right now, it may soon have to agree to this.
