Pakistan’s biggest record broken in just the seventh match, 25 year old player created new history
Pakistan cricket remains in the news for some reason or the other. Pakistan Cricket Board is continuously in the headlines for hosting the Champions Trophy 2025. Meanwhile, a great performance has been seen from the Pakistan cricket team. Actually, Pakistan cricket team is currently on Zimbabwe tour and is busy playing T20I series after winning the ODI series. After winning the first T20I by 57 runs, Pakistan broke the back of Zimbabwe’s batting in the second match. Zimbabwe team was forced to surrender in front of Pakistani bowlers.
Zimbabwe’s poor batting can be gauged from the fact that the team could not even play the full 20 overs and collapsed on a paltry score of 57 runs in just 12.4 overs. This is Zimbabwe’s lowest score in T20I. Zimbabwe had scored 82 runs against Sri Lanka at the beginning of this year, but by the end of the year this shameful record was also broken.
25 year old bowler created history
Fast bowler Sufiyan Mukeem played a big role in restricting the entire Zimbabwe team to such a low score. 25 year old Sufiyan single-handedly showed half the team the way to the pavilion. The interesting thing is that this bowler made 5 batsmen his victims by giving just 3 runs in 2.4 overs. In this way the biggest record in Pakistan’s T20I history was broken.
15 year old record destroyed
This performance of Sufiyan Muqeem has now become the best bowling performance by Pakistan in T20I cricket. Earlier, the record for best bowling was in the name of Umar Gul. Gul had done a great feat of taking 5 wickets in the years 2009 and 2013. Gul had spent only 6-6 runs during this period. Now Sufiyan, in his 7th match, has left behind both the records of Umar Gul in one stroke.
Before this match, Sufiyan had 9 wickets in 6 T20I matches. Now after taking the wicket in the 7th match, he has increased his number of wickets to 14. He also took three wickets in the first match of the T20I series against Zimbabwe. Now it will be interesting to see his bowling in the third match.
