Pakistani cricket team is currently on tour of Zimbabwe. The team is playing three ODI matches there. The series is very important in connection with the preparations for the Champions Trophy. However, Pakistan got a shock when Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan in the very first match. Although the result of that match was taken out due to DLS due to rain, but even if the match had been completed, Zimbabwe team would have won. But now the Pakistani team has won the second match and the series is equal. This victory of Pakistan is not ordinary, but this victory achieved under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan is historic. Pakistan has worked to end the drought of about 13 years.

Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets

Under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan won this match by 10 wickets. Before this, Pakistan had won an ODI match by ten wickets 13 years ago i.e. in 2011. From then till now such a big victory was not being achieved, but now it has happened under the captaincy of Rizwan. The interesting thing is that if we include this victory, then till now the Pakistani team has won only five ODI matches by 10 wickets.

This is Pakistan’s fifth win in ODI by 10 wickets.

Pakistan got its first ODI win by ten wickets in the year 1986, when the team defeated New Zealand in Sharjah. After this he had to wait for a long time. In the year 2008, Pakistan had defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets in their home Karachi. After this, the team did this feat twice in the year 2011. First the team defeated West Indies by 10 wickets in Mirpur and after that it defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in Harare. After the year 2011, now in the year 2024, Pakistan has won by 10 wickets in an ODI match, hence this victory becomes even more special.

Sam Ayub scored a smashing century

Talking about the match, Zimbabwe, batting first, scored 145 runs at the loss of 10 wickets. The team could not even play its quota of 50 overs and was out in just 32.3 overs. No batsman could even cross the 50 mark. Only after this, Pakistan’s victory seemed close. But it was not expected that the team would win this match without any loss. Pakistan’s opening pair scored 148 runs without any loss in only 18.2 overs and won the match. Sam Ayub scored 113 runs on only 62 balls. Whereas Abdullah Shafiq played a role in helping his team win by playing an important inning of 32 runs on 48 balls.
