He scored a total of 2753 runs while playing 125 ODI matches, which included two centuries and 17 half-centuries.

Mohammad Kaif made his ODI debut in January 2002. After this, he played the final match of the Net West Trophy against England in July. In this match, Kaif had led India to victory on the basis of his excellent innings. After this match he became a superstar overnight.
