Finally, when the bid reached Rs 1 crore, he joined Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1 crore 10 lakh.

Twice he went unsold, the third time when his name came up, Mumbai Indians bought him at the base price of only Rs 30 lakh. His batting was awaited, but he completely disappointed. In the first match, when India faced Pakistan, he could score only one run after playing 9 balls and was out. After this, he also flopped against the Japanese team which was considered weak. Against Japan, Vaibhav scored 23 runs on 23 balls and was out. When the bid for a player is more than Rs 1 crore in a tournament like IPL, then such performance is not expected from him in two back to back matches.
