India has got the right to host the Junior Shooting World Cup next year, which will include rifle, pistol and shotgun competitions. National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) gave this news on Saturday. The event will be the country’s third top international shooting tournament, after the Senior World Cup to be held in Bhopal in 2023 and the season-ending World Cup Final held earlier this year. This will further strengthen India’s position as a premier destination for sports like shooting.

Dates will be announced soon

However, the final decision regarding the dates of this tournament has not been taken yet. After NRAI received official confirmation from ISSF, national federation president Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo informed that a meeting of the ISSF Executive Committee was held in Rome last month. In this meeting, ISSF President Luciano Rossi and other member federations praised India for hosting and contributing to promoting the sport at the world level. He said that we were already aware of it, but now that the official confirmation has come, we are extremely excited about this opportunity and are ready to host this competition with all our hard work.

NRAI General Secretary Sultan Singh said that ISSF has set two possible times, one from September to October 2025 and the other in late October and early November. NRAI will soon clarify its position on these dates after an internal meeting so that the member federations can be informed and they can prepare accordingly.

India has organized shooting tournaments before

Previously, India has hosted two championships and six ISSF competitions, including two World Cup finals and four senior ISSF World Cups. The successful conduct of these competitions has established India in a leading role on the international stage of shooting.
