Team India is preparing to create history on the Australia tour. After winning the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth by 295 runs, Team India’s confidence is sky high and now its eyes are on the day-night Test to be played in Adelaide. The Adelaide Test will start from December 6 in which Team India will try to take a 2-0 lead in the 5-match Test series with a win. The last time Team India played a day-night test match here in the year 2020, the entire team was bundled out for just 36 runs and lost the match by 8 wickets. However, a lot of time has passed since then and now Team India would like to forget this shameful defeat and make a new beginning with victory.

Virat Kohli will create history

In the day-night test match to be played in Adelaide, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli, who is the only Indian batsman who holds the record of scoring a century in the pink ball test. Kohli had scored this century against Bangladesh in 2019. Now he will have a golden opportunity to score another brilliant century in the day-night test match. If Virat Kohli succeeds in scoring a century in the second Test match, he will break many big records and leave behind legends like Vivian Richards and Brian Lara.

In fact, the great West Indies batsman Brian Lara holds the record for scoring the most Test runs at the Adelaide Oval. He has scored 610 runs on this prestigious ground. Just behind him is Sir Vivian Richards, who has scored 552 runs in Tests at this ground. Virat Kohli is at third place with 509 Test runs in Adelaide.

If Kohli scores 44 runs in the second Test, he will surpass Vivian Richards and move to second position in this exclusive club. If he scores 58 more runs, he will surpass Lara’s record and become the highest run-scorer in Adelaide. This means that as soon as Kohli scores a century in the next test, he will overtake Vivian Richards and Lara in one stroke.
