IND vs AUS: The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is being played between India and Australia. Boxing test is going on in Melbourne which started on 26 December. Australia’s batsmen maintained their dominance on the first two days, as a result of which the host team was successful in scoring a big score of 471 runs in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah was the Indian bowler taking the most wickets. He took 4 wickets in his bag. Ravindra Jadeja was successful in taking 3 wickets and Akash Deep 2 wickets. Washington Sundar got one wicket. Jasprit Bumrah is performing brilliantly with the ball in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He is the only bowler who has taken more than 20 i.e. 25 wickets in 7 innings. There are no bowlers around him either. Due to the excellent bowling of Bumrah, India was successful in winning the first test in Perth, however, Team India had to face defeat in the second match. The third Test match played in Brisbane was a draw and now all eyes are on the fourth Test match.

Jasprit Bumrah in great form

Indian batsmen have been struggling continuously since the Perth Test but Bumrah’s bowling is continuously giving wickets to Team India. However, he is not getting full support from other bowlers, of which Australia’s batsmen are taking full advantage. This is the reason why Team India seems to be lagging behind in the Melbourne Test. In response to Australia’s 474 runs, India had scored 164 runs for the loss of 5 wickets by the end of the second day’s play. Even though Indian batsmen are continuously struggling in Australia, Bumrah has come close to a great record by bowling amazingly.

Maharikard on Bumrah’s target

Actually, Jasprit Bumrah is playing his 44th Test match in Melbourne. Bumrah has taken 198 wickets in 84 innings of 44 Tests. It is considered certain that he will take 200 wickets in the Melbourne Test itself. If he manages to do this in Melbourne, he will become the fastest Indian fast bowler to take 200 Test wickets, breaking Kapil Dev’s record. At present this record is in the name of Kapil Dev. He had achieved this position in 50 test matches.
