Ravichandran Ashwin On His Father Statement: Ravichandran Ashwin had announced his retirement from international cricket with the end of the third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 played between India and Australia at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane. After the decision of his retirement, Ashwin reached Chennai directly from Brisbane on the morning of 19th December, where fans welcomed him from the airport to his home, while during this he also appeared very emotional. At the same time, Ashwin’s father’s statement on his son’s decision to take retirement definitely surprised everyone, in which he said that his son was being made to feel constantly humiliated. Now Ashwin has also reacted to his statement, in which he has requested everyone to leave his father alone and forget this statement.

While reacting to his father’s statement on Platform X on social media, Ashwin wrote that my father has no experience of interacting with the media. I did not expect that you people would follow this statement of my father. All of you are requested to forgive them and leave them alone. Let us tell you that in a statement of Ashwin’s father which was published in CNN News 18, he had said that our family was expecting this decision from Ashwin for some time because he was facing constant insults. Although we all did not know that he would come like this. I don’t want to oppose this but I am a little angry with the way he took retirement. After all, how long can one tolerate things, that is why my son also took such a sudden decision and it is his son’s decision to leave international cricket.
Ashwin got a chance to play in the Adelaide Test match only.
Out of the three Test matches played so far on the Australia tour, Ashwin got a chance to play only in the Pink Ball Test match played in Adelaide. In the first match of this series which was played in the stadium of Perth, Washington Sundar was a part of the playing 11, while in the Gabba Test match, Ravindra Jadeja got a chance in place of Ashwin. At the same time, Ashwin made it clear to the fans with his retirement decision that he will definitely be seen playing in the IPL, in which he will once again play for the Chennai Super Kings team in the season to be held in the year 2025.
