Decision could not be taken on ICC Champions Trophy 2025, will have to wait now
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be organized on a hybrid model.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025: There are frequent meetings between ICC and PCB regarding the organization of Champions Trophy to be held in the months of February and March next year, on which no decision has been taken till now. Regarding this, in the meeting held on November 29, it was expected that some major decision would be taken by the ICC, but now it has been postponed for a day after the meeting, on which the final decision on how the tournament will be organized on November 30 will be taken. A decision will be taken. People from both BCCI and PCB boards were involved in the ICC meeting.
ICC wants to conduct the tournament on hybrid model
Pakistan is alone hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, while BCCI had already made it clear that it will not send the Indian team to play in Pakistan, the biggest reason for which is the worrying security situation there. BCCI had already expressed its consent to play on the hybrid model in which it had given the option of holding the Indian team’s matches in some other country. However, the PCB is not at all ready for this step of the BCCI, in which it is adamant on organizing the entire tournament in its own country.
ICC has these options for the tournament
ICC will never be ready to play this tournament without India and in this situation they have only 2 options. The first of these is that the Champions Trophy 2025 should be played in a hybrid model in which the Indian team will play its matches at neutral venues while all the remaining matches will be played in Pakistan. The second option available to the ICC is to let the hosting rights of this tournament remain with the PCB and shift the tournament to some other place. Now all the fans are going to keep an eye on what decision ICC takes on 30th November.
