Gukesh got Rs 11.45 crore for winning the championship

The World Chess Championship is counted among the sports championships with the highest prize money in the world. An amount of Rs 21 crore is distributed among the players who reach the finals of this championship, in which this time India’s D Gukesh has got a total of Rs 11.45 crore for winning the championship, which if he plays for Chennai Super Kings team in IPL. If we look at the salary of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it is quite high, who has been retained by CSK for only Rs 4 crore for the next season. Apart from this, Ding Liren of China, who had to face defeat, has received prize money of Rs 9.75 crore.

Prize money received for winning every match for the finals

According to the rules of FIDE, the international organization of the game of chess, both the players playing in the final are also given prize money for all the matches they won while traveling to reach here. In which D Gukesh has received a prize money of Rs 11.45 crore, out of which he got a total of Rs 5.07 crore from the final match and the victory in three matches has also been given to him by including it in this prize money.
