Charlie Dean is the first player to achieve this feat at the age of 25. Before her, Carol Hodges had achieved this feat in 1993 and Claire Connor in 1999. Dean dismissed Aneri Derksen on the third ball of the 17th over, then completed his hat-trick by taking three consecutive wickets. She dismissed Marizanne Kapp, Nadine de Klerk and Sinalo Jafta. Dean took an impressive 4/45 in 10 overs to help South Africa bowl out 137 runs.

For South Africa, Chloe Tryon scored 45 runs in 49 balls. England’s reply innings began with a brilliant 69-run opening partnership between Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier, although the team reached 82/3 after the fall of a few wickets.
