Australia Adds Scott Boland To Ashes Squad

Melbourne, Dec 21: Cricket Australia on Monday announced that fast bowler Scott Boland has been added to the Australian squad for the Ashes Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, it was reported here on Tuesday.

Boland has been training with the team in Adelaide and officially joined the squad, while the medical team assessed the fast bowlers following victory in the second Test. The 32-year-old has played 14 ODIs and 3 T20I for Australia but is yet to earn his Test cap.

The 2018-19 Marsh Sheffield Shield player of the year has been in strong form for Victoria this summer with 15 wickets from two matches against New South Wales at an average of 10. He played against the English Lions alongside Test debutant Michael Neser in Brisbane before joining the team in Adelaide.
