Australian team celebrated Christmas before Melbourne Test, Boxing Day Test will be played tomorrow
The fourth test match between India and Australia is to be played in Melbourne. Team India seems fully prepared for this match. This test series between the two teams is currently tied at 1-1. The team that wins the Boxing Day Test match to be played in Melbourne will gain an unassailable lead in this series. Before this match, the players of the Australian team celebrated Christmas at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Christmas celebrated in MCG
The recent Christmas celebrations at the MCG looked like an annual nursery school celebration as the children of Australian cricketers had a blast. 24 hours before the Boxing Day Test match against India, Australian players were enjoying the special occasion with their families. Captain Pat Cummins’ wife Becky and Mitch Marsh’s wife Greta were also present at the event, and enjoyed a light-hearted moment with their children.
Steve Smith was accompanied by his father Peter, and head coach Andrew McDonald’s son Ollie was seen having a throwdown at the net with Travis Head. Apart from this, Sam Konstas’ family also came to MCG from Sydney to make this day special. Constas was set to make his international debut in the fourth Test against India, and his family was excited to see him don the baggy green.
What did Australian captain Pat Cummins say?
During this time, children were jumping wildly on the field, and their father was thoroughly enjoying the moment. Cummins shared that due to his cricketing commitments, he gets to spend less time with his family, but on this day he was happy to spend time with his children. He said that as much time as we spend in travelling, we do not get that much time with our families. This is our big family and the kids are having a lot of fun.
Cummins further said that 30-40 kids were running among the players and staff, and it was very fun to watch. On this special day, Constas was made to feel at home amongst the family ahead of his Test cricket debut, so that he could be a part of the joy and celebration this Christmas.
