Today i.e. on 7th December, the second day of the second test match being played between South Africa and Sri Lanka is being played in which a bowler has created a new history.

On the second day, Sri Lanka’s first innings was reduced to 328 runs. Sri Lanka was trying to surpass South Africa’s first innings score of 358 runs but Dan Patterson did not allow this to happen. Dan Patterson showed half the team the way to the pavilion. He dismissed 5 Lankan batsmen giving away 71 runs in 22 overs. In this way, 35 year old Patterson achieved a big feat in the history of South African cricket.

Amazing work of South African bowler

Dan Patterson did the feat of taking 5 wickets in Test at the age of 35 years and 245 days. With this, he became the fourth fast bowler in the history of South African cricket to take 5 wickets at the age of more than 35 years. This is the first time since 1966 that a South African pacer over the age of 35 has shown the way to 5 batsmen in a Test innings. Earlier in the year 1966, Trevor Goddard had achieved this big achievement against Australia.
