Feature: In a resolute address at Remed Ground in Sambalpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the commitment of the BJP-led government at the Centre to propel the rapid development of Odisha. Emphasizing the recent budget’s guarantee for the holistic development of all sections of the state’s populace, PM Modi expressed confidence in the government’s unwavering dedication to progress.
Underlining the theme, “Modi’s Guarantee Means Guarantee Pura Hone Ki Guarantee,” the Prime Minister stressed the positive impact of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which has directly benefited crores of farmers across the country, including approximately 40 lakh farmers from Odisha.
During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated projects worth Rs 70,000 crore, signaling the government’s commitment to uplifting the status of the underprivileged, including the poor, women, farmers, and fishermen. He applauded the success of the PM Kisan scheme, highlighting that Rs 30,000 is sent directly to each farmer’s account, surpassing the efforts of the previous government.
Modi applauded the BJP’s serious commitment to true empowerment for farmers, citing a substantial increase in paddy procurement. He contrasted the present government’s procurement of paddy worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore from Odisha with the previous administration’s Rs 36,000 crore under the MSP mechanism.
Turning attention to the fisheries sector, PM Modi pledged ongoing efforts to invigorate the industry and empower fishermen nationwide. The government’s focus on improving the lives of fish farmers is part of a comprehensive strategy for sustainable growth.
In the budget, provisions for the rooftop solar scheme, with an allocation of Rs 10,000 crore, aim to increase household savings and promote sustainable energy practices. Additionally, PM Modi highlighted the extension of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to ASHA and Anganwadi workers, ensuring access to medical care services up to Rs 5 lakh.
In a direct attack on the Congress, PM Modi accused the previous government of treating tribals merely as a vote bank. Contrarily, he asserted that the BJP, over the last decade, has consistently worked towards the comprehensive development of tribals in Odisha and other states.
