Bhubaneswar: In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the permanent campus of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) in Basantpur, Sambalpur. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnaw, and Minister Biseswar Tudu.
The newly unveiled IIM Sambalpur campus boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, encompassing auditoriums, libraries, sports zones, incubation centers, and hostels. Meticulously designed to fulfill administrative, faculty, and academic requirements, the campus also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, aligning with modern environmental standards.
In addition to the inauguration of the IIM Sambalpur campus, Prime Minister Modi launched 18 other projects in the Sambalpur district, with a collective investment nearing Rs.69,000 crore. Notably, a significant portion of this investment, amounting to around Rs.58,000 crore, will be allocated to coal and power projects, reflecting the government’s commitment to bolstering the energy sector.
Prime Minister Modi, after laying the foundation stone for various projects in Odisha, proceeded to Assam, continuing his commitment to unveiling and kickstarting transformative initiatives across the nation. The series of inaugurations and project launches highlight the government’s comprehensive approach to development, encompassing education, infrastructure, and economic growth. The impact of these initiatives is expected to resonate positively, bringing about tangible improvements in the lives of citizens in the respective regions.
