Apr 19: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man allegedly killed his 60-year-old mother by slitting her throat. The fateful incident has sent shock waves among Kumbhari villagers under Barpali Police limits in Bargarh district today.
However, police have arrested the accused and undergoing further investigation about this heinous crime.
According to sources Kaushalya Sahu, an elderly widow was staying with his son Bidyadhar (32) at Bandhapada in the village. Though the accused son is married, but his wife has left him earlier and stays separate.
On Tuesday noon, a verbal duel ensued between the mother-son over some issues. In a fit of rage, Bidyadhar attacked and slit his mother’s throat brutally with a blade. When she screamed for life, the accused bundled her into a sack and threw the blade.
On receiving information, a police team has arrested the accused. Meanwhile, locals claimed that the accused is mentally unstable.
